ESTATE MILLWORK · BOCA RATON, FL
Custom Wood Millwork in Boca Raton, FL
Estate Millwork is the manufacturer, not a local showroom. We build custom hardwood doors, shutters, and cabinet doors to order in our Pennsylvania workshop and ship them directly across South Florida's Gold Coast — from the Addison Mizner–designed Mediterranean Revival homes of Old Floresta to the barrier-island estates of Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club and the coastal streets of Spanish River and Por la Mar. Because everything is made to your dimensions, we work naturally with the openings you actually have: the arched stucco surrounds of a 1920s land-boom villa, the deep loggia of a Boca Raton Resort–era cottage, or the tall impact-rated openings of a modern Intracoastal build.

Millwork for Boca Raton, FL's historic Mediterranean Revival homes
Boca Raton's most characterful housing came out of the 1920s Florida land boom, when architect Addison Mizner shaped the city's Mediterranean Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival vocabulary — arched openings, pecky-cypress and carved-wood doors, stucco walls, and barrel-tile roofs. That vocabulary survives most intact in Old Floresta, the Mizner-planned 1925 neighborhood listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and in the landmarked Cloister Inn core of the Boca Raton Resort. Stock sizes rarely fit these openings. Because we build every piece to the measurements you provide, we can match an existing rail-and-stile proportion, reproduce a moulding profile, or hold a tight sightline in an arched surround. If your home is a designated historic site, changes are reviewed by the City of Boca Raton Historic Preservation Board, which issues a Certificate of Appropriateness before work proceeds — send us that requirement and we will build doors and shutters that read correctly for the period instead of forcing a stock catalog part onto a protected elevation.
Choosing wood for Boca Raton, FL's coastal, subtropical climate
Boca Raton runs hot, humid, and subtropical year-round, with a long Atlantic hurricane season, salt-laden coastal air, punishing UV, and heavy summer rain — conditions that are hard on exterior millwork and swing interior wood between saturated outdoor humidity and dry, air-conditioned rooms. The right species depends on the application. For exterior doors and shutters we most often recommend Spanish Cedar, Mahogany, White Oak, and Western Red Cedar for their natural rot resistance and dimensional stability in salt air; for interior doors and cabinet doors, Cherry, Walnut, Maple, and Poplar give you the grain and paintability most Boca Raton interiors want. Every board is kiln-dried to a stable moisture content before milling so the finished piece holds its shape through a soaking August and a chilly, dry January.
Getting custom millwork to your Boca Raton, FL project
Boca Raton sits along the I-95 and Florida's Turnpike corridor between Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, and delivery is worth planning before you order. A gated community like Royal Palm or St. Andrews with its own access and design-review rules, a barrier-island lot on the far side of the Intracoastal, or a general contractor coordinating trades on a downtown or Camino Real renovation each change how a piece should be sized, crated, and scheduled. Tell us the access and site situation up front — the gate procedure, the bridge or narrow-street approach, the HOA architectural committee — and we can advise on panel sizes that will make the turn, crate for the carrier your job site allows, and time the ship date so your finished millwork arrives when the site is ready to receive it.
