Quartersawn White Oak shows the dramatic ray fleck of Arts & Crafts and Mission furniture. Cut with the rings perpendicular to the face, it is exceptionally stable and wear-resistant — the Stickley wood.
Milling Options
- S2S — both faces planed to thickness, edges left as sawn. Rip your own widths.
- S4S — faces and both edges milled; flat, square and parallel. Ready to cut to length and use.
- Sanded — S4S plus a 150-grit finish sanding. Straight to stain or clear coat.

A finished board is billed on the 8 ft stock it is cut from (4 ft when the piece is under 4 ft) plus a flat surfacing charge — $6 S2S, $7.50 S4S, $9 sanded. Thicknesses are quoted nominal; an S4S board finishes roughly 3/16" under the call-out once surfaced. Widths from 1" to 12", lengths to 96"; wider or longer stock is glued up or sourced to order — call 412.641.0177.
Ordering and Shipping
No minimum — order one board. Every piece is milled to order at our Meyersdale, Pennsylvania shop from kiln-dried stock (6–8% moisture content) and ships nationwide in one to two weeks by UPS, FedEx or LTL freight.
