About Our Marine Woods
- Teak ( Tectona grandis ) — the marine standard: naturally oily, dimensionally stable and rot-proof, ideal for decking, cap rails, trim and cockpit joinery.
- White Oak ( Quercus alba ) — closed-pore and rot-resistant, the traditional wood for steam-bent frames, ribs, keels and planking.
- Cypress — Southern Cypress, light and naturally rot-resistant, long used for planking, framing and trim on working boats.
- Spanish Cedar ( Cedrela odorata ) — light, stable and rot-resistant, good for trim, joinery and bright-finished brightwork.
- Mahogany — genuine mahogany, stable and rot-resistant, classic for transoms, trim, coamings and runabout planking.
All five machine and glue well and take marine finishes and epoxy cleanly.

Our marine stock is #1 Common and better, kiln-dried to 6–8%, and sold by the board foot — one board foot is 144 cubic inches (a 12×12×1″ board). We stock 4/4 through 10/4; long lengths, extra-wide decking boards, thicker keel and frame stock, and truckload quantities are quoted on request through the form below.
