True Craftsmanship. Timeless Beauty.
Every door is carefully crafted with true mortise-and-tenon joinery, premium hardwoods and furniture-grade attention to detail.
The frame is milled from solid red oak — stiles and rails joined with true mortise-and-tenon construction — and the panels are woven cane rattan set into a grooved frame, so the door ventilates a closet or pantry while keeping its contents out of sight. Rattan is a sub-style of our Custom door type: the designer above opens on it with this species selected.

Red Oak Custom Doors, Built to Your Specifications
Red Oak custom doors are built to your exact specifications, showcasing the wood's light pinkish-red to medium brown with warm reddish undertones in whatever design you envision. Whether you need an oversized entry door, a curved-top interior door, or a specialty configuration that no standard product line offers, Red Oak provides the workability and beauty to bring your vision to life. The bold, prominent grain pattern with visible rays and open pores adapts beautifully to any door style or panel configuration. The most widely used hardwood in american construction. Our custom door program starts with your dimensions and design requirements, and our engineers translate them into precise machining programs that produce a perfect Red Oak door every time.
Why Red Oak for custom doors
Custom doors exist because standard sizes and styles cannot fit every opening or match every vision. Red Oak is particularly well suited to custom work because its bold, prominent grain pattern with visible rays and open pores machines predictably and holds detail well across non-standard dimensions. Bold grain creates strong visual texture. For finishing, Red Oak open grain takes stain deeply; grain filler available for smooth filled finish. From concept to delivery, our custom Red Oak doors receive the same attention to material selection, machining precision, and assembly quality that we apply to every product in our lineup.
About our Red Oak
Our Red Oak is sourced from eastern North American forests and arrives at our Pennsylvania mill as kiln-dried stock with moisture content between 6-8%. Red Oak rates 1,290 lbf Janka on the Janka hardness scale, classifying it as a dense hardwood. The natural light pinkish-red to medium brown with warm reddish undertones develops character over time as the wood responds to light and air. In terms of decay resistance, Red Oak offers moderately durable — open pore structure means best for interior or sealed exterior. Excellent screw-holding strength. We hand-select each board for straight grain, minimal defects, and consistent color before it enters our production process.
Machining & hand joinery
Working with Red Oak in our shop requires specific knowledge of how this species behaves under tooling. The bold, prominent grain pattern with visible rays and open pores responds well to our CNC routers and shapers, producing clean profiles with minimal sanding. Every joint in our Red Oak products uses true mortise-and-tenon construction — no pocket screws, no biscuits, no dowels. Open grain takes stain deeply for rich color. We apply waterproof adhesive at every joint and reinforce critical connections with hardwood pegs. The result is a product built to outlast the building it adorns. For finishing, Red Oak open grain takes stain deeply; grain filler available for smooth filled finish.
