The Vicksburg louvered shutter is a great style for a tall window, having three fields of equally sized louvers divided by supporting rails. This design concentrates the viewer.s focus on the center of the shutter, helping to center the view right on the window itself. The Vicksburg style works quite well on Southern architecture, but will also complement any large or dramatic window you might have on your home. The standard thickness is 1 5/16" with 3/8" X 1 3/4" real louvers, but the dimensions can be modified to exactly match existing or historical shutters. Built with true mortise and tenon joinery, these dramatic shutters will help to define the visual style of your home.
These elegant shutters can be ordered with a number of options ranging from operable louvers to radius tops, and there are a variety of custom details that can be included in the design: rabbeted edges, custom sticking profiles. Most commonly, our window shutters are manufactured from Spanish Cedar and Western Red Cedar, and imported teak, although Estate Millwork can fabricate them from almost any type of wood.
