The SaintGeorge Bermuda Shutter is a simple and strong louvered shutter with two equal sized, tall fields of louvers divided vertically by a central stile. What sets this shutter apart from the others is the larger, extra thick louvers. Quite simply, this was designed to be a very strong shutter. The standard thickness is 1 5/16" with 1/2" X 2 1/4" real louvers, but the dimensions can be modified to exactly match existing or historical shutters. Built with true mortise and tenon joinery, and with hardwood dowels, these stylish and strong shutters will beautify any home.
These distinctive shutters can be ordered with a number of options ranging from customized rails and stiles to radius tops, and there are a variety of custom details that can be included in the design: rabbeted edges, custom sticking profiles, and inlays. Most commonly, our window shutters are manufactured from Spanish Cedar and Western Red Cedar, although Estate Millwork can fabricate them from almost any type of wood.
