About the TS1000 Profile

The TruStile TS1000 is a single-panel flat door — the cleanest, most minimal profile in their catalog. It's specified heavily in contemporary and modern residential projects where the door itself is meant to recede into the wall plane. Estate Millwork replicates this geometry in solid hardwood: a single field with stile and rail frame, standard sticking, matching TruStile's stile widths.

Why Solid Wood Matters for a Single-Panel Door

  • The panel surface tells the whole story. On a single-panel door, the entire face is one field. An MDF field shows no grain and takes paint uniformly — fine for paint-grade work. A solid hardwood field in Walnut, White Oak, or Mahogany is a design element in its own right: figure, grain direction, and natural color all visible across the full face.
  • Flush with reality. MDF single-panel doors used in high-humidity spaces (bathrooms, mudrooms) are at greatest risk of edge swelling. A solid wood equivalent with the proper moisture content and finish holds dimension.
  • Custom thickness. TruStile's standard thickness is 1-3/8". Estate Millwork builds in 1-3/8", 1-3/4", or custom — useful when a heavier feel or sound dampening is specified.
