How to Install Custom Drawer Fronts
Our drawer fronts come ready to install. Some customers may prefer to have us finish the drawer fronts, or to finish on site, but once the drawer front is ready for installation, it is extremely simple. Our drawer fronts will work with any cabinet system, legacy traditional hand built kitchens or European Face Frame cabinets. Most installations just require you to remove the existing drawer fronts and reuse hardware to mount our drawer fronts onto the drawer boxes, typically with 2 bolts and one or 2 pulls or knobs. In minutes you can order a whole new look for your kitchen or bathroom and in a few days time, you can begin the installation process, which typically takes only minutes per drawer front and requires only a screw driver and possibly a drill.

Walnut Rich in Color and History
Walnut Hardwood Lumber is a premium domestic hardwood valued for its rich color and excellent finishing qualities. Walnut has a slightly open grain varying from wavy to irregular with an even and uniform medium to coarse texture. Walnut is a unique domestic species, because there are no other North American species of wood with the same distinct chocolate brown colored heartwood. The wood's rich tones make for excellent doors and paneling, and as a furniture wood, it is hard to beat.
Walnut gained popularity back when colonists started importing the lumber to Europe for furniture and interior woorwork, because it was so plentiful then it was easier and cheaper to obtain than Mahogany.
Today, Walnut is still highly prized for furniture and interior woodwork, but it is growing in popularity is starting to match that of Cherry. A significant development in the Walnut lumber use is in the marine industry, boat builders are now using the dark color on yacht interiors as a contrast to the lighter tones of Teak. At heart Walnut wood is a statement of luxury and is used in many applications to that effect.
Freshly milled Walnut can exhibit many different color hues, from deep browns and purples to light creams. Steaming Walnut will even out some of those color variations and creates a much more uniform and mellow chocolate color, over time and with oxidation and exposure to the sun Walnut will lighten in color and blends well with most other species.
Handcrafted with Sustainably Harvested Lumber
At Estate Millwork we air dry much of our lumber, and after air drying we finish drying in low wattage dehumidification kilns.
Every piece of wood we purchase is used to the fullest on products, at Estate Millwork we have a very high yield ratio of 94 percent due to the use of automated saws and optimizing software. The remainimg 6 percent which is mostly sawdust and chips are either burned to heat our plant or send to local cattle farmers for bedding and composting.
Nothing is wasted. Some of Appalachian lumber we use comes from Amish farmers in our county who harvest with horses instead of mechanized equipment, and do our rough sawing on 1920s sawmills that are also extremely low input compared to larger commercial sawmills of today. All of our imported lumber is plantation grown, and not harvested from natural forests.
