Bahama Telescoping Shutter Rod
About Bahama Telescoping Shutter Rods
The bahama telescoping shutter rod is an adjustable support arm designed to hold top-hinged bahama shutters (also called Bermuda shutters) at their desired open angle. Machined from solid aluminum, this rod extends from 18 to 27 inches, making it suitable for a wide range of window sizes. The telescoping design allows you to set your bahama shutters at the optimal tilt angle for shade, airflow, and rain protection without the need for multiple fixed-length rods.
Installation and Usage
Bahama shutters are hinged at the top of the window and swing outward from the bottom. Two telescoping rods are typically required per shutter panel, mounted on either side to provide balanced support. The rods attach between the wall surface and the bottom rail of the shutter. When you want to close the shutters for storm protection or privacy, simply retract the rods and allow the shutters to drop flush against the window opening. The unfinished aluminum construction can be left natural for a clean industrial look or painted to match your shutter color.
