We only use the best lumber for our projects, with a specialty in Spanish Cedar, which consists of a Cedar that is incredibly durable and can last years longer than various other Cedars, and is our recommended wood of choice for this reason.
In addition, Spanish Cedar has another natural benefit in its ability to repel termites and resist rot. Our efficiency in technology and processes allow us to produce exterior custom shutters using this Cedar at a very affordable price, making it a very attractive choice.

Our process starts with the selection of the hardwoods that meets top FAS, 2FAS and CLEAR qualifications, such as Spanish Cedar and Mahogany. From there, our specialized millworkers tailor the hardwood to fit your exact custom specifications and measurements (consult the tips below for measurement help).
Throughout the years we’ve upgraded our processes to get maximum value out of each piece of lumber we use, making way for a very efficient shutter creation. In addition, we are a green-friendly company. We only purchase hardwood from highly sustainable forests, and keep our factory as efficient as possible, burning wood scraps for heat in the winter and adapting the work schedule in the summer to prevent high AC usage.
Measuring For Custom Exterior Shutters
Taking down measurements for your shutters isn’t as hard as it may seem, and can be done in less than a day. To do this, you will need to take down your window’s height and width in inches to the nearest 1/16 inch . For height, measure every window you want your shutters on, from the window sill to the very top point. For width, measure your windows from end to end at the top, bottom and middle. Also, for operable shutters subtract 1/2 an inch from overall width and 1/4th an inch from overall width.
Exterior Shutters Customized to Fit Your Request
Our six shutter types – raised panel, louvered, board-and-batten, combination, Bermuda and flat panel, four wood options – Western Red Cedar, Poplar, Spanish Cedar and Mahogany, and numerous styles give you the ability to choose a shutter that will uniquely fit your home. Additionally, we can produce both open-close shutters (helpful for cooling/heating bill savings) and fixed/decorative shutters upon your measurements and request. On top of these standard customizations, we can also construct a shutter customized to your hand-drawn or AutoCAD sketch.
Once you provide us with the overall design you would like including measurements for a custom exterior shutter, we will provide you with a price quote either by phone or e-mail as soon as possible – usually within one business day. Upon an agreement, we begin construction utilizing the premium technique of mortise and tenon joinery. The shutter is then either finished with a natural, stained, painted or primed finish. The entire high-quality procedure from order to completion takes about 21-28 days, upon which your exterior wood shutter will be delivered to you.
