Antebellum RobertLee ShutterA specialty from the Old Dominion. A stout and sturdy window treatment if ever a General could declare one.The RobertLee louvered shutter is a distinctive style, with one smaller field of louvers between two equal sized, larger fields. This design concentrates the viewer.s focus on the center of the shutter, helping to center the view right on the window itself. The RobertLee style is quite comfortable on Southern architecture, but can also be found in any design where visual emphasis on the windows of your home is desired. The standard thickness is 1 5/16" with 3/8" X 1 3/4" real louvers, but the dimensions can be modified to exactly match existing or historical shutters. Built with true mortise and tenon joinery, these distinctive shutters will help to define the visual style of your home. These elegant shutters can be ordered with a number of options ranging from operable louvers to radius tops, and there are a variety of custom details that can be included in the design: rabbeted edges, custom sticking profiles. Most commonly, our window shutters are manufactured from Spanish Cedar and Western Red Cedar, and imported teak, although Estate Millwork can fabricate them from almost any type of wood.
