Antebellum Asheville ShutterProper manners and an equal balance make this one of our most popular belles. The Asheville louvered shutter is a perfectly symmetrical window shutter with two equal sized fields of louvers. It is ideal as a replacement shutter for houses that already have louvered shutters either on the first or higher storeys. The Asheville style is prominent in Southern architecture, Colonial and Georgian styled homes. The standard thickness is 1 5/16" with 3/8" X 1 3/4" real louvers, but the dimensions can be modified to exactly match existing or historical shutters. Built with true mortise and tenon joinery, these architecturally correct shutters will beautify any home. These elegant shutters can be ordered with a number of options ranging from operable louvers to radius tops, and there are a variety of custom details that can be included in the design: rabbeted edges, custom sticking profiles. Most commonly, our window shutters are manufactured from Spanish Cedar and Western Red Cedar, and imported Teak, although Estate Millwork can fabricate them from almost any type of wood.
